Brief Description of Activity:
Students will go to a website where they will participate in a coloring game. Students will choose a Halloween coloring page of their choice and will color the page. The website the students will go to is http://resources.kaboose.com/games/creepy-coloring.html. Once they have successfully decorated a coloring page, they will then print off the page on the class color printer and then write their names on the coloring page. They will then have their art work displayed on the class bulletin board where they can look at their work and other students work as well.
General Learner Outcome:
o Students will add finishing touches
Specific Learner Outcome:
o Finishing touches (accents, contrasts, outlines) can be added to make a work more powerful.
o Stepping back from a work helps in judging how it can be improved.
ICT Outcomes:
C.2 - Students will seek alternative viewpoints, using information technologies.
F.6.1.1perform basic computer operations, which may vary by environment, including powering up, inserting disks, moving the cursor, clicking on an icon, using pull-down menus, executing programs, saving files, retrieving files, printing, ejecting disks and powering down.
P.3.1.2 create visual images by using such tools as paint and draw programs for particular audiences and purposes.
Rationale for Computer Integration:
Computers are used in this assignment to allow students to explore the possibilities of online art creation. The assignment allows the students of different artistic abilities achieve a more even ground and express themselves through color.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea Steph! I think when most people think of art they think of painting or drawing of paper with a variety of tools but we rarely consider technology as a way to create art. Very creative way to incorporate technology.
